AutoPhysics Air Filter

by Jeff Lucius

The DN Performance polished steel intake pipes moved the Split Second MAS out away from the engine about 1/4" farther than with the stock plastic hoses. This made the K&N 9" cone filter too long. I switched to an AutoPhysics 1000 cfm 6"x8" inverted-cone filter. This filter was manufactured by S&B (model R-40-0008 P/S, blue ring) for AutoPhysics (a company that now appears to no longer be marketing products). The filter element characteristics are extremely similar to those of K&N filters. You can buy these filters from Baker Precision, Intense Performance, and Superior Airflow.
