It is too bad it might be necessary to include this page in a site devoted to the sharing of a common passion among enthusiasts. I live my personal, social, and political life as a libertarian, believing that we are each responsible for our own actions. Unfortunately, our litigious society and our governments do not share my beliefs. So here it is.

Furthermore, tampering with any emissions-control device, or modifying an emissions-control vehicle, that is not for off-road use may be a violation of federal regulations. However, the clearly enumerated powers of Congress in Article. I. Section. 8. of The Constitution of the United States of America do not mention or infer the power to regulate the quality of the air we breath, water we drink, or ground we drive on, or to regulate the construction, modification, purpose, power, or aesthetic appeal of our motor vehicles. These powers are derived (or stolen, depending on your perspective) from you, the citizens of the United States of America.

"It would be a dangerous delusion were a confidence in the men of our choice to silence our fears for the safety of our rights... Our Constitution has accordingly fixed the limits to which, and no further, our confidence may go... In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." - Thomas Jefferson, 1798

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.." - Thomas Jefferson, 1802:

"Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence, I must confess that I do apprehend same danger. I fear that they may place too implicit a confidence in their public servants, and fail properly to scrutinize their conduct; that in this way they may be made the dupes of designing men, and become the instruments of their own undoing." - Daniel Webster, June 1, 1837

"You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence." - Charles A. Beard (1874-1948), U.S. historian

"My friends, the bottom line is this: The danger isn’t that Big Brother may storm the castle gates. The danger is that Americans don’t realize that he is already inside the castle walls." - Wayne LaPierre, Feb. 2002
